Member Benefits
As a member of Laborers’ Local Union 657 , you are entitled to a variety of benefits through several funds, including but not limited to:

Disaster Relief Fund – in the event of a major disaster, such as total loss due to fire, Local 657 can provide some assistance to any member. Monies are disbursed on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Business Manager.

Emergency Assistance – similar to the Disaster Relief Fund, the Emergency Assistance Fund is administered by the Community Services Agency, Metropolitan Washington AFL-CIO. Local 657 will make a referral to its members, who are entitled to a one-time benefit for various circumstances, such as late utility and medical bills, rent, or child support.

Sick & Bereavement Fund – in the event one of our members is injured or in the hospital, the Local 657 will deliver a “Get Well” gift to you.

Member Death Benefit – when a member of Local 657 becomes deceased, any beneficiary of that member may make a claim for a death benefit. The amount of the benefit is determined by the number of continued years of service.

Scholarship Fund (available for the 2006-2007 school year) – high school seniors of the families of Local 657 members may apply for financial assistance towards their college education.
